Senior AI Backend Engineer (LLMs & AI Agents)

About the role

Tappz is building AI‑native applications powered by large language models. We need a senior engineer who can design, develop, and ship backend systems that enable intelligent agents and retrieval‑augmented workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services that leverage LLMs.
• Develop multi‑step AI agent workflows and integrate external tools.
• Build Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using vector search.
• Manage prompt orchestration, context handling, and system state.
• Optimize performance, latency, and cost of AI features.
• Deploy AI capabilities into production products.

Required profile

• Strong backend engineering experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Nest.js and Google Cloud Platform.
• Deep hands‑on work with large language models and AI APIs.
• Proven experience building AI agents or multi‑step workflows.
• Familiarity with vector databases such as Pinecone or Weaviate.
• Experience implementing RAG pipelines and prompt engineering.
• Track record of production deployment and performance tuning.
• Ownership mindset, fast execution, and willingness to go the extra mile.
