Regional Climate Change & Green Finance Consultant

About the role

The Regional Climate Change & Green Finance Consultant will support the client’s effort to embed climate considerations across public‑ and private‑sector operations in North Africa. Reporting to the Chief Climate Change & Green Growth Specialist, the consultant will work with regional task teams to design, implement and monitor climate‑aligned projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical inputs to the regional climate‑change and green‑growth work programme.
• Mainstream mitigation, adaptation, climate‑risk and green‑growth considerations into policy and operational documents.
• Support climate‑informed, Paris‑aligned project design, implementation and monitoring.
• Identify and develop opportunities to access climate and green finance from internal and external sources.
• Assist business development, stakeholder engagement and project management across the North Africa portfolio.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and reporting using appropriate methodologies.

Required profile

• Relevant master’s degree (e.g., climate science, environmental economics, sustainable development).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in climate mitigation, adaptation and finance.
• Proven track record in business development and project management, preferably in clean energy, waste management, climate risk or development operations.

Required skills

• Technical expertise in climate‑change mitigation and adaptation frameworks.
• Knowledge of green‑finance mechanisms and Paris‑aligned project design.
• Strong data‑analysis capabilities using quantitative and qualitative methods.
