Network Engineer – Radio Access Network (RAN) Specialist

About the role

Ericsson is seeking a skilled RAN Network Engineer to support the deployment, optimization, and maintenance of mobile radio access networks across 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure optimal coverage, capacity, quality and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deploy, integrate and optimise 2G‑5G RAN networks, configuring radio parameters, neighbour relations and mobility settings.
• Support site integration, commissioning, cluster acceptance and network rollout activities.
• Monitor and optimise RAN KPIs (accessibility, retainability, mobility, throughput) and perform coverage, capacity and interference optimisation.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for call drops, congestion, low throughput and other performance issues.
• Implement parameter changes, feature activations and software upgrades via OSS platforms.
• Support technologies such as VoLTE, VoNR, Carrier Aggregation, DSS, MIMO, SON and beamforming.
• Analyse traffic trends, recommend capacity expansion and execute drive‑test and post‑implementation validation.
• Collaborate with Core, IMS, EPC, 5GC, Transmission and IP teams to resolve end‑to‑end service issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience with 2G‑5G RAN environments, radio optimisation and performance management.
• Familiarity with LTE, 5G NR, RF planning and optimisation certifications is a plus.
