Industrial Engineer Manager - Trim

About the role

Lear, a global automotive technology leader in seating and e-systems, is hiring an Industrial Engineer Manager for its trim plant in Menzel Bourguiba, Tunisia. The manager leads and oversees technical and manufacturing engineering activities across production sites, ensuring operational excellence, process optimization and product feasibility, while driving continuous improvement and aligning production, technical teams and leadership toward cost, quality and safety objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise technical manufacturing activities across production sites.
• Assess the technical feasibility of a product or product range.
• Develop technical know-how, including modernizing processes or production tools, adding value and improving competitiveness.
• Propose improvements and adaptations to production sites to optimize cost, quality and lead times.
• Lead and coordinate technical manufacturing, logistics and production management activities with the Production Director or Production Manager.
• Hold daily meetings with production managers, engineers, planning teams and industrial maintenance teams to identify issues and confirm objectives.
• Coordinate actions between production management teams and technical departments, and evaluate daily operational needs to adjust production capacity.
• Establish and communicate cost estimates and quotations for new products or technical modifications.
• Support the site's EH&S policy, ensure workplace safety procedures are applied, and help maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Required profile

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role, ideally with exposure to trim or textile production.
• Excellent organizational skills, with a proven ability to plan, prioritize and monitor project activities.
• Proven track record in managing and developing teams, with strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Ability to lead and collaborate in cross-functional teams and navigate matrix-style organizations.
• Good communication skills in both French and English.
