Backend AI Developer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Backend AI Developer to build and maintain the AI backbone of our multi‑tenant SaaS e‑commerce platform. This fully remote position is ideal for a self‑motivated engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of high‑performance backend systems and cutting‑edge AI/LLM pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js/Express and MySQL.
• Implement caching strategies with Redis to ensure high performance.
• Build and maintain AI/LLM pipelines, including embeddings, vector databases (Pinecone), and integrations with OpenAI and Gemini.
• Architect Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure‑as‑Code (EKS, Helm, eksctl, IRSA) without manual console work.
• Ensure robust multi‑tenant SaaS data isolation.
• Develop integrations with third‑party platforms (Zendesk, SendGrid, Meta) via webhooks and APIs.
• Collaborate with the frontend team (SvelteKit, Tailwind) on full‑stack features.
• Own the software lifecycle using Git, GitHub Actions, Docker, and ECR.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Backend Developer with strong Node.js/Express expertise.
• Deep knowledge of MySQL at scale, including query optimization and schema design.
• Hands‑on experience with Redis for caching and session management.
• Practical experience building AI/LLM pipelines and working with embeddings, Pinecone, OpenAI/Gemini APIs.
• Strong AWS background, specifically EKS, Helm, eksctl, and IRSA, following IaC principles.
• Understanding of multi‑tenant SaaS data isolation strategies.
• Experience integrating third‑party APIs and webhooks.
