Laboratory Technician

About the role

Autoliv is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support its mission of saving lives through vehicle safety products such as seatbelts, airbags, and steering wheels. The role focuses on dimensional inspections, product testing, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections, product testing, and conformity verification.
• Operate measuring equipment including CMM, vision systems, gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
• Prepare and issue measurement and test reports.
• Analyze test results, report non‑conformities, and support customer complaints, supplier issues, and internal investigations.
• Participate in root cause analysis and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain traceability of samples, test data, and laboratory records.
• Verify calibration status of laboratory equipment and support MSA studies.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with customer, product, and process requirements.
• Train operators and technicians on measurement methods when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
• At least 1 year of experience in the automotive industry.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and reliable communication skills.
• Customer‑focused mindset with solid decision‑making abilities.
• Proficiency in English and French.

Required skills

• Operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other measuring equipment (vision systems, gauges, calipers, micrometers).
• Dimensional inspection and product testing techniques.
• Understanding of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) fundamentals.
• Interpretation of technical drawings, including GD&T.
• Familiarity with Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, and PFMEA.
