Migration Health Nurse Consultant (Type B)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Migration Health Nurse (Consultant Type B) to support its public‑health response for migrants in Zarzis, Tunisia. Working under the Head of Sub‑office and the migration health physician, the consultant will deliver direct medical assistance and help strengthen health services for migrant beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical assistance to migrants accessing IOM health services.
• Create and update medical records for new and follow‑up cases, ensuring proper archiving.
• Coordinate referrals with hospitals and medical centres and monitor treatment progress.
• Support medical services for migrants in governmental health facilities when requested.
• Identify special health needs of vulnerable groups (children, pregnant women, persons with disabilities, elderly) and liaise with partners to facilitate service provision.
• Contribute to quality‑monitoring mechanisms and flag potential protection concerns.
• Conduct health‑needs assessments of the migrant population, focusing on health determinants.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse with experience in migrant or public‑health settings.
• Ability to work under supervision of senior health staff.
• Familiarity with health‑system referral processes and record‑keeping.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with hospitals, NGOs and government agencies.
