Machining Team Leader (CNC)

About the role

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a CNC Machining Team Leader to oversee daily machining operations in its aircraft engine component workshop. The role ensures production targets, quality standards, and safety compliance are met while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily CNC machining activities, assigning tasks and managing workload across operators and machinists.
• Monitor machine utilization, efficiency, and downtime, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures, 5S standards, and company policies on the shop floor.
• Interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and machining programs to support setup and tooling selection.
• Optimize machining processes to improve productivity and reduce scrap.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams.
• Train, coach, and develop team members to enhance technical skills and performance.
• Participate in lean manufacturing and other continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Report production KPIs such as OEE, scrap rate, and downtime to management.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in an industrial CNC/precision manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with CNC machining operations, including setup, programming understanding, and troubleshooting.
• Previous supervisory or managerial experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and manufacturing standards.
• Ability to lead, coach, and manage a production team effectively.
