Technical Lead – Senior Full-Stack Engineer (AI/LLM)

About the role

Light Speed Technologies is seeking a Senior Full‑Stack Engineer with proven AI/LLM experience to lead the engineering execution of a high‑impact product. This is a senior, hands‑on role that combines technical direction, feature delivery, and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Define architecture and technical direction, including feature design, data modeling, integration choices, and performance optimization.
• Design, implement, and ship AI/LLM features such as embeddings, vector search, LLM‑driven decisioning, and agentic flows.
• Lead a team of three engineers: manage sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives, code reviews, and mentorship.
• Maintain direct communication with product and stakeholder teams, translating business needs into technical plans and providing structured push‑back when necessary.
• Raise engineering standards by improving code quality, testing discipline, deployment practices, and documentation.
• Participate in hiring decisions and help grow the engineering team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years at a senior level.
• Strong full‑stack production background using React, Next.js (14/15), TypeScript, Node.js, Prisma, and PostgreSQL.
• Demonstrated experience shipping production AI/LLM features using OpenAI or Anthropic APIs, embeddings, vector databases (e.g., pgvector, Pinecone), RAG pipelines, or agentic systems.
• Previous engineering management or tech‑lead experience overseeing 3+ engineers and running sprint cycles.
• Excellent written and spoken English and comfort working in a fast‑paced startup environment.
