Senior Software Engineer 1 - Embedded Automotive Software

About the role

Visteon is looking for a Senior Software Engineer 1 to join its Software Development team, working on automotive solutions. The role requires a deep understanding of embedded systems, real-time software development and automotive industry standards, and involves designing, developing and optimizing software that improves vehicle performance, safety and user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software for automotive applications in line with AUTOSAR and ISO 26262.
• Lead the implementation of real-time operating systems and middleware for vehicle control and infotainment.
• Work with hardware engineers to integrate software with ECUs and sensors.
• Run code reviews, unit testing and integration testing, and troubleshoot complex software issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve development processes.
• Take part in requirements analysis and system architecture design.
• Ensure compliance with automotive cybersecurity standards and apply secure coding practices.
• Document designs, test plans and technical specifications for maintainability and audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a focus on embedded systems.
• At least 5 years of experience in embedded software development in the automotive industry, with proven expertise in real-time systems and automotive communication protocols.
