Senior Platform Engineer (Backend Lead)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to lead backend development and drive the design of high‑performance asynchronous Python APIs. You will shape our data platform, secure authentication flows, and AI‑driven agent solutions while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain async Python APIs using FastAPI, Pydantic, and SQLAlchemy 2.0.
• Lead PostgreSQL schema modeling, migrations, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization (RBAC, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT) and manage API gateway policies.
• Define API standards, versioning strategies, and integration best practices across distributed systems.
• Build, deploy, and maintain AI agents using reusable templates and blueprint frameworks.
• Configure agent‑to‑tool integrations via MCP protocols and manage LLM routing strategies.
• Collaborate with product, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing backend applications with Python.
• Strong expertise in asynchronous Python, FastAPI (or equivalent), and modern API design.
• Proven experience with PostgreSQL design, migrations, and performance optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and enterprise identity providers.
• Familiarity with API gateway platforms such as Kong or Apigee.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes fundamentals, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and agent orchestration concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
