Senior General Ledger Accountant (French/English)

About the role

Free2move Tunisia is looking for a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join its Shared Services Center (SSC) in Tunisia, reporting directly to the Group Head of Accounting. The role is the accounting owner of one or several legal entities, covering month-end close, statutory reporting and external audits, while acting as a technical reference for junior accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing for assigned entities, reviewing and posting complex entries such as provisions, accruals, prepaid expenses, deferred income, payroll, tax provisions and depreciation
• Ensure accurate financial reporting with FP&A and Management Control, and guarantee the quality of financial statements
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate outstanding items and document supporting evidence
• Run monthly intercompany reconciliations and coordinate with international entities to resolve discrepancies
• Prepare annual statutory audit files, coordinate external audits with accounting firms and statutory auditors, and act as the main accounting contact during audits
• Document and improve accounting procedures, identify automation opportunities, and support junior accountants

Required profile

• Master's degree (Bac+5) in Accounting, Finance or Chartered Accountancy
• 7 to 10+ years of experience in General Ledger or Financial Accounting; preferred background includes an SSC in a large group, a Tunisian subsidiary of a major company, a Tunisian group with European subsidiaries, or a Big Four firm
• Fluent French and professional English
• Experience in a multinational Shared Services Center and comfort with high-volume transactions

Required skills

• Extensive General Ledger accounting and strong experience with monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• IFRS and/or local GAAP
• Advanced Excel; SAP highly preferred
