Senior Backend / API / Integration Lead

About the role

MICLA Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Backend / API / Integration Lead to drive the design and implementation of robust, secure backend services for mission‑critical digital platforms. The role will be based in Tunis and works in a hybrid environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality, maintainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and supervise backend services, REST APIs, and integration layers.
• Manage database access patterns, PostgreSQL/PostGIS integration, and data model evolution.
• Implement encryption components, secure key handling, and secrets‑management integration.
• Ensure secure API communication, WebSocket/real‑time messaging, and audit‑ready logging.
• Collaborate with mobile, web, QA, DevOps, and cybersecurity teams to review code and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Prepare technical documentation and oversee data migration or validation activities.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in backend architecture and API integration.
• Proven ability to coordinate with full‑stack developers while maintaining ownership of backend components.
• Strong understanding of security, traceability, and audit requirements for sensitive operational data.
