Public Area Attendant

About the role

The Public Area Attendant ensures that all public and employee spaces within the hotel are clean, safe, and welcoming for guests and staff. This full‑time position involves routine cleaning, maintenance reporting, and guest service tasks in accordance with Marriott standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean public and employee restrooms, showers, glass surfaces, and floor areas using designated chemicals and equipment.
• Dust surfaces, empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns, and dispose of waste properly.
• Inspect furniture for damage, report any issues, and maintain lighting fixtures.
• Post caution signs when needed and coordinate urgent repairs with other departments.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and identify preventative maintenance needs.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, including proper storage of flammable materials.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and appearance.

Required profile

• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 55 lb unaided and heavier items with assistance.
• Capability to push/pull equipment on uneven surfaces, reach overhead, and work at knee level.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, kneel, or sit for extended periods during a shift.
• Ability to climb ladders and navigate narrow or elevated spaces.
• No specific education or prior experience required.
