Part-Time English Teacher (25 hrs/week)

About the role

The British Council is looking for a motivated Part‑Time English Teacher to deliver high‑quality language lessons in Tunisia. You will join a dynamic team, support the organisation’s global English strategy, and help learners achieve their language goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to diverse learners.
• Ensure teaching meets British Council Global Teaching Standards and learner expectations.
• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and promote learner autonomy.
• Contribute to centre initiatives, course development and material evaluation.
• Participate in team meetings, marketing activities and provide excellent customer service.
• Complete all teaching‑related administrative duties to required standards.
• Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and promote intercultural learning.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree.
• Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL (minimum global standard).
• English proficiency at C1 level (IELTS Band 8+ or Cambridge CAE).
• Demonstrated teaching experience aligned with British Council standards across multiple age groups (minimum hours specified for each level).
• Right to live and work in Tunisia and willingness to undergo annual background checks.
