General Accountant – Construction Finance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Accountant to join the finance team of a leading construction group in Benghazi. The role focuses on managing all accounting activities related to projects, vendors, and clients while ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee general accounting transactions, ensuring accurate system entries and ledger maintenance.
• Handle vendor and subcontractor accounts, including invoice auditing, payments, and progress billing settlements.
• Administer client/customer accounts, track receivables, collections, and outstanding balances.
• Perform routine bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and track project cost accounting.
• Prepare trial balances and periodic financial reports for management review.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in the contracting or construction industry.
• Strong analytical abilities and high accuracy under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong command of MS Office applications.
