Freelance Infrastructure & Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a freelance Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to join the core team of a fast‑growing European tech company. This part‑time position (≈20 hours/week) offers the chance to own real infrastructure projects and collaborate with an international engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain internal IT infrastructure, including office networks, Azure cloud resources, and internal systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot networking components such as routing, switching, VPNs, and office connectivity.
• Manage internal IT requests and improve support workflows using Slack and Jira Service Desk.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure operations and security.
• Contribute to security and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, TISAX).

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in IT support, system administration, or infrastructure operations.
• Strong foundation in networking, Linux systems, and monitoring.
• Ability to take ownership of infrastructure topics and work independently.
• Excellent spoken and written English for technical discussions.
• Interest or background in IT security and compliance (nice to have).
• Basic familiarity with container technologies such as Docker (nice to have).
• German language skills (nice to have).
