Finance Controller – French Speaking Africa

About the role

The Finance Controller for French Speaking Africa will ensure accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and operational excellence across the region. This role partners with external auditors, tax teams, and internal COE groups to drive compliance with US GAAP and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver timely US GAAP monthly and quarterly financial statements.
• Oversee statutory filings, local audits, and coordinate with external auditors and GEHC COE teams.
• Perform balance‑sheet analysis, ensure account integrity, and reconcile accounts promptly.
• Maintain robust internal controls, oversee SOX 404 compliance, and manage legal‑entity governance.
• Collaborate with Treasury and Tax teams on capital structure, liquidity, and CIT/VAT/WHT filings.
• Lead simplification, integration and Lean transformation initiatives across the region.
• Drive special projects that enhance internal controls, reporting quality, and support business growth.

Required profile

• Professional experience in accounting or finance, preferably from an external auditing firm.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Strong analytical controllership skills linking financial results to operational performance.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional process‑improvement projects.
• Adaptable, self‑starter with a strong attention to detail and data‑analytics experience.
• Experience working in a matrixed, multinational environment.
