Engineering, Health & Safety Manager

About the role

As the Engineering, Health & Safety Manager you will safeguard the guest experience by ensuring the hotel’s facilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, oversee building systems, and drive compliance with all health, safety, fire and environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train, supervise and mentor a high‑performing engineering team.
• Oversee maintenance of HVAC, electrical, life‑safety and other building systems while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Manage daily maintenance operations, prioritize work orders, and verify completion through the property maintenance management system.
• Support capital projects and property rehabilitations, handling scheduling, budgeting, contractor bidding and permitting.
• Develop and implement property‑wide energy‑conservation programs to reduce utility costs.
• Monitor departmental KPIs, audit results and team productivity, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with hotel leadership on evacuation procedures, duty‑manager coverage and other safety protocols.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering or facilities teams in a hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, fire and environmental regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large‑scale maintenance operations and capital projects.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving skills.
