Data Science Engineer (Scientist)

About the role

Infor Decision Analytics and Science (IDeAS), a division of Infor, provides AI/ML solutions for many industries, using predictive and prescriptive analytics to automate decisions across business functions. The Data Science Engineer designs, builds and operationalizes large-scale predictive and prescriptive analytics to solve business problems important to Infor customers. The role is based in Tunis.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and set up the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning solutions, including model orchestration and data pipelines.
• Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines from customer data sources to support ML solutions.
• Lead discussions with business stakeholders to identify challenges solvable with AI/ML, and communicate results and their implications.
• Perform and review exploratory data analysis on large, complex datasets to assess data quality and extract insights.
• Build pragmatic solutions using the latest AI/ML technologies across industries.
• Review the work of junior team members within a project.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematical Modeling, Operations Research, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical, Industrial or a related quantitative discipline.
• Deep hands-on experience designing and implementing full machine learning and/or optimization pipelines, from ETL and data preprocessing to model prototyping, deployment and inference.
• Experience with analytics tools such as Tableau and Power BI is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python; SQL and/or PySpark for data querying.
• Ability to communicate ideas and code clearly, and to explain technical topics to scientists, engineers and business partners.
• Good data modeling, problem-solving and collaborative skills.
• Preferred: knowledge of TensorFlow, PyTorch or Keras; experience with timeseries forecasting, recommendation models, demand forecasting, anomaly detection, pricing or recommendation solutions.
