Customer Quality Engineer – Automotive Trim

About the role

The Customer Quality Engineer will act as the on‑site representative for our automotive trim customers, ensuring that all quality policies and standards are applied consistently across the plant. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on‑site customer liaison for operational quality matters.
• Coordinate implementation of customer requirements with production, engineering, and quality functions.
• Monitor, analyse, and report quality KPIs, non‑conformities, and customer complaints.
• Develop, update, and maintain PFMEA and Control Plans to mitigate quality risks.
• Prepare and submit PPAP documentation in line with IATF 16949 and customer specifications.
• Manage internal rejections, customer returns, and protective measures.
• Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives using structured problem‑solving methods.
• Support quality‑awareness training following complaints or new specifications.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (mechanical, industrial or related).
• Minimum 4 years of automotive industry experience in a quality‑related role.
• At least 2 years in a Customer Quality position.
• Fluent communication skills in both French and English.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with PFMEA, PPAP and 8D problem‑solving tools.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
• Familiarity with internal and external audit practices.
