Stores Team Lead – Operations & Inventory Management

About the role

The Stores Team Lead is responsible for supervising all store operations, managing inventory flow and leading a team to ensure efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of goods. The role combines leadership, health‑and‑safety stewardship and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a proactive EHS culture across the site.
• Lead and cross‑train the stores team to maintain personnel availability in key areas.
• Collaborate with Operational Leaders and the SIOP team to launch jobs on schedule.
• Kit projects with the correct material at the right time for shop‑floor launches.
• Move components through production to achieve 100% on‑time delivery.
• Attend daily production meetings to stay aligned with delivery schedules.
• Record inbound and outbound goods using the Syteline 10 system.
• Receive deliveries, verify quantity and condition, and organise storage locations.
• Prepare materials for collection or delivery according to internal schedules.
• Assist with periodic stock checks and maintain a clean, safe yard.
• Log and report any scrap received.
• Ensure safe loading/unloading of materials and support colleagues as needed.
• Manage import/export paperwork and book transport for timely deliveries.
• Oversee waste disposal, maximise recycling, and report KPI’s.
• Participate in Kaizen initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a stores or warehouse environment.
• Strong leadership with a proven record of developing teams.
• Good knowledge of health‑and‑safety regulations and waste‑recycling practices.
• Computer literate with experience using stock management systems.
• Excellent communication skills at all organisational levels.
• Methodical, organised and able to work independently.
