Solution Architect, Enterprise AI

About the role

NextGen Group is seeking a hands‑on Solution Architect to own the technical design of AI platforms deployed in client environments across the Gulf/MENA region. The role is based in Tunis with regular travel to Dubai and occasional trips to the UK, and high performers may relocate to Dubai after a few months.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end architecture for AI platforms, covering data, retrieval, model access, application and integration layers.
• Determine where AI fits a problem, define boundaries between deterministic logic and model reasoning, and make those decisions defensible to clients.
• Architect deployment environments including client cloud, sovereign, air‑gapped or hybrid infrastructures with residency, network isolation and identity federation.
• Own integration approaches into ERP, CRM, HR, finance, document repositories and other line‑of‑business systems.
• Design governance layers for classification‑driven routing, permission‑aware retrieval, grounding, citation, audit and human oversight.
• Lead architecture through client security and compliance reviews and defend the design under scrutiny.
• Collaborate with engineers during delivery, reviewing implementations against the design and adjusting as needed.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience designing and delivering enterprise systems, with recent depth in AI or data platforms.
• Proven ability to work in regulated or government environments where data residency, auditability and evidencing decisions are mandatory.
• Strong integration background, capable of connecting disparate systems.
• Comfortable presenting technical positions to client security functions and adapting when required.

Required skills

• Fluency with cloud platforms at architecture level – AWS, Azure or GCP (identity, networking, security services).
• Practical knowledge of deploying large language models in production (retrieval, grounding, orchestration, failure modes).
• Experience designing AI platform components and governance layers.
• Expertise in system integration with ERP, CRM, HR, finance and document management solutions.
