Software Systems Engineer

About the role

This role is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and scalable software systems. It collaborates with cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Monitor and test application performance, identify bottlenecks and work with developers to implement fixes.
• Optimize software systems for performance, scalability and resource efficiency.
• Gather system engineering requirements by working with engineering groups and stakeholders.
• Lead multiple project teams of software systems engineers through design, development, testing and integration.
• Manage relationships with internal and outsourced development partners.
• Review designs for compliance with standards and provide feedback to improve quality.
• Provide domain expertise and leadership to cross‑organization projects.
• Drive innovation and integration of new technologies.
• Mentor and guide less‑experienced staff members.

Required profile

• Four‑year or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 7‑10 years of experience in systems engineering, software development or related field.
