Senior Architectural Lighting Designer

About the role

Scope Merge is establishing a dedicated design and technical team in Tunis to support a Dubai studio that works on luxury residential and hospitality projects across the Gulf. The position is a full‑time role on a Tunisian contract, collaborating remotely with the Dubai design team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete lighting concepts and design narratives for villas, 5‑star hotels, suites, lobbies, restaurants, spas, landscape and facades.
• Set lighting hierarchy, ambience and visual identity for each project.
• Prepare concept presentations, moodboards and lighting strategies.
• Create lighting layouts, reflected ceiling plans and detailed integration with architecture and interiors.
• Select luminaires, optics, beam angles, define CCT, CRI and output requirements.
• Review lux calculations, photometric studies and ensure visual comfort.
• Produce luminaire specifications, fixture schedules and lighting BOQs.
• Coordinate lighting controls, dimming and scene setting with architects, interior and landscape designers, and MEP consultants.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of dedicated architectural lighting design experience.
• Proficiency with DIALux Evo and/or Relux, AutoCAD, Photoshop and InDesign; knowledge of Revit, BIM, SketchUp or 3ds Max is a plus.
• Strong understanding of photometry, IES/LDT files, lux levels, uniformity, glare and visual comfort.
• Experience with beam distributions, optics, colour temperature, rendering, controls and dimming protocols.
• Familiarity with international lighting standards and architectural lighting details.
• Experience on Middle‑East, GCC or international projects is a strong advantage.
• Excellent English communication skills.
