Process Engineering Technician

About the role

Autoliv is seeking a Process Engineering Technician to support the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for safety-critical components such as seatbelts, airbags, and steering wheels. The role focuses on enhancing performance, quality, and efficiency across production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and improve process performance, quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain process documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans, SWIs, process flows).
• Lead continuous‑improvement, line‑balancing, and scrap‑reduction initiatives.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support 8D/root‑cause analysis.
• Implement Poka‑Yoke and other quality‑improvement solutions.
• Support new product launches, machine acceptance, and engineering changes.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to meet productivity, quality, and operational targets.
• Participate in audits and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
• Define production standards, capacities, and work methods.
• Identify training needs and assist workforce development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Textile Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a process‑engineer, process‑technician, or manufacturing‑engineer role.
• Experience in the automotive industry is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, time studies, line balancing, and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• PFMEA, Control Plans, SWIs, process flow documentation.
• 8D root‑cause analysis, Poka‑Yoke implementation.
• Industrial automation, robotics, vision systems, screwing/torquing technologies.
• Automotive quality tools: MSA, SPC, AIAG/VDA methodologies, IATF requirements.
• Process performance indicators: OEE, DPMU, LMPU, capability analysis.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic system knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software.
