Group Industrial Excellence Director – Machining

About the role

An international manufacturing group is hiring an experienced technical Group Industrial Excellence Director. The role will improve performance, reliability and cost of the parts the group machines today by rebuilding the process base, turning person‑dependent practice into documented, repeatable standards, and building capability to industrialise new parts won by Sales in new markets.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the group’s highest technical authority on machining Inconel and other hard superalloys, arbitrate machining strategies, cutting conditions, tooling choices and machine allocation, and solve recurring technical problems.
• Own continuous improvement of existing machined parts – cycle times, cutting conditions, tooling life, cost, scrap and rework – by overhauling routings, replacing person‑dependent practice with documented standards and validating standard times on the shop floor.
• Build product/process matrices linking each part family to preferred machine routing, standard times and costing logic so true production cost and margin are known at quoting.
• Elevate the methods department from a reactive function to the driving force of industrialisation across the group and standardise common methods, routing structures, machining standards and technical KPIs across sites.

Required profile

• Deep, hands‑on mastery of machining Inconel and other hard superalloys, including cutting conditions, tooling, sequences, machine capability, scrap and cycle‑time reduction.
• Minimum 10 years in methods, industrialisation or industrial excellence in precision machining, with experience in a methods or process‑engineering function.
• Proven track record of industrialising new parts from drawing to first good part and improving cost and reliability of existing production.
• Fluent English mandatory; additional French or Arabic preferred.
