Packaging Specialist

About the role

Autoliv is seeking a Packaging Specialist to develop, optimize, and maintain packaging solutions that protect product integrity while meeting cost, quality, regulatory, and sustainability requirements. You will work across multiple functions to ensure packaging aligns with manufacturing, logistics, and environmental goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging solutions.
• Optimize packaging costs through material selection, standardization, and supplier collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
• Conduct packaging trials, tests, and validations such as drop tests and transport simulations.
• Investigate packaging‑related quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Coordinate with suppliers on specifications, innovation, and performance.
• Support cross‑functional teams including Procurement, Quality, Production, Logistics, Marketing, and R&D.
• Maintain packaging BOMs, technical drawings, and specifications in ERP systems.
• Drive sustainability initiatives by reducing material usage and promoting recyclable designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of packaging engineering or development experience, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Strong problem‑solving and project‑management abilities.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Packaging material selection and validation testing (drop, shelf‑life, transport simulation).
• Development of packaging specifications and BOM management.
• Experience with ERP systems for packaging data.
• Knowledge of quality standards, CAPA processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Supplier coordination and cross‑functional teamwork.
