Machining Setup Technician

About the role

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking an experienced Machining Setup Technician to join its Megrine facility. You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills, ensuring high‑quality production of complex aircraft engine components.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills across three shifts.
• Train operators to improve proficiency and maintain labor standards.
• Verify dimensions before releasing the first piece and make program edits for milling and turning.
• Collaborate with engineering on machining enhancements, technology upgrades, and AS9100 compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement, setup reduction, and flow‑line principles.
• Monitor and improve operator performance against labor standards.
• Troubleshoot CNC issues and run multiple jobs simultaneously.
• Select appropriate cutters and work with high‑temperature alloys.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; CAD school courses are a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of machining experience.
• At least 5 years of CNC experience.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Required skills

• CNC operation of lathes and mills.
• CNC programming and basic MasterCam usage.
• Cutter selection for high‑temperature alloy machining.
• Knowledge of AS9100 quality procedures.
