Liaison and Partnership Officer

About the role

The Liaison and Partnership Officer supports DRC’s access, operations and partnerships across East and South Libya, reporting to the Country Director and working closely with the Partnerships Coordinator. The role involves building relationships with authorities, civil society and humanitarian partners to facilitate programme implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as focal point with local authorities, facilitate approvals, permits and coordination for operations and staff movement.
• Represent DRC in coordination meetings and stakeholder forums, monitor local administrative developments.
• Support field teams with access, logistical facilitation and resolve bureaucratic bottlenecks.
• Maintain partner mapping, update partnership database and track contracts/sub‑grant agreements.
• Conduct field monitoring of partner activities, document findings and report to senior management.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years experience in humanitarian or development sectors, preferably in liaison, coordination or partnership support.
• Strong understanding of the humanitarian landscape in East and South Libya and experience engaging with local authorities and civil society.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and cultural sensitivity; willingness to travel frequently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools for data and document tracking.
