Embedded Software Engineer Summer Internship 2026

About the role

Join STMicroelectronics for an 8‑10 week Summer Internship in 2026, working on embedded software projects that support real‑world semiconductor applications. You will be guided by experienced engineers and gain hands‑on experience in both development and testing.

Key responsibilities

• Support embedded software development activities under supervision.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing technical specifications with multiple stakeholders.
• Implement software modules primarily in Embedded C and Python.
• Define and execute basic test cases for new features.
• Perform maintenance and small evolution tasks on existing code.
• Contribute to the integration or automation of GenAI flows.
• Deliver assigned tasks on time, incorporating feedback.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or academic exposure to Embedded C and/or Python.
• Introductory understanding of embedded systems concepts; familiarity with STM32 microcontrollers is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or protocol analyzers under supervision.
• Motivation to learn, good communication skills, and ability to work within a technical team.
