EHS Specialist – Data Centre Operations (Tunisia)

About the role

The EHS Specialist will be the on‑site Environment, Health & Safety lead for Syntys’ Tunisia data‑centre operations. Reporting to the Head of EHS in Doha, the role ensures a "Safety First" culture, compliance with Tunisian regulations and international standards, and safe execution of all operational and maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the local EHS management system aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and Tunisian law.
• Conduct routine site inspections, safety walks, behavioral observations and audits, and close findings within agreed timeframes.
• Lead risk assessments, job safety analyses and audits for hazardous tasks such as hot work, work at height, electrical work (LV/MV/HV), confined space entry, lifting and live‑system operations.
• Investigate incidents and near‑misses, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, inductions and emergency drills in English, French and Arabic.
• Maintain emergency response plans and liaison with civil protection and local emergency services.
• Monitor environmental aspects (energy, water, waste, hazardous materials, refrigerants, diesel) and support sustainability targets.
• Keep the legal register up‑to‑date, translate regulatory changes into site procedures, and report EHS metrics to the Head of EHS.

Required profile

• Proven experience in EHS management within industrial or data‑centre environments.
• Strong knowledge of Tunisian EHS legislation and ISO 45001/14001 standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, French and Arabic.
• Excellent analytical skills for incident investigation and risk assessment.
