Design (Tool & Die) Engineer - Forged Products

About the role

Pursuit Aerospace, a global manufacturer of complex aircraft engine components, is looking for a Design (Tool & Die) Engineer in Ben Arous, Tunisia. You will analyze and develop tool and die designs used to manufacture forged products (closed die, press forging) that meet engineering and manufacturing objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide forged part and tooling designs for airfoil and non-airfoil products, covering extrusion, upset, blocker/preform and final forge processes.
• Review design requirements with the customer and Process Engineering, then create detailed CAD models and drawings.
• Evaluate die designs using DEFORM simulation software and troubleshoot forge tooling problems.
• Create CNC programs for machining forge die tooling and work with tool room personnel on instructions and documentation.
• Instruct outside vendors on design when required, and lead new product launches and process/design improvement initiatives.
• Support Tool Room, Quality Control and Metrology with CAD modeling and dimensional layout, and provide part layouts for quoting and estimating.
• Take part in Kaizen and continuous improvement workshops across Pursuit Aerospace sites and perform other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• At least 5 years of tool and die design experience in the metal working industry.
• At least 3 years of experience working in CAD or Siemens NX.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Required skills

• CAD and Siemens NX (preferred: tool and die/mold experience, understanding of 3D geometry, GD&T, and CNC programming).
• Preferred: DEFORM simulation, 3D printing, Polyworks and laser scanning.
