Data Engineer I – Entry Level

About the role

The Data Engineer I will join Harvest Group’s Tunisia office to help build and maintain data pipelines that feed retail‑partner products such as Walmart, Target, Amazon and Kroger. This entry‑level position focuses on developing SQL‑based transformations, supporting cloud data platforms, and collaborating with senior engineers in an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and document SQL transformation models following team standards.
• Assist senior engineers in building new data pipelines for retailer data products.
• Investigate and resolve data‑quality issues raised by product support.
• Write and maintain data tests, schema documentation, and freshness checks.
• Monitor scheduled pipeline runs, troubleshoot basic failures, and log resolutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups and retrospectives.

Required profile

• Strong working knowledge of SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations).
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to collaborate with U.S.‑based teams across time zones.
• Curiosity, attention to detail, and a proactive ownership mindset.
