Silicon Characterization Lab Apprentice – STM32

About the role

You will join the STM32 characterization laboratory at STMicroelectronics, supporting instrument management, automation development, and the deployment of automotive‑grade quality standards while continuing your engineering studies as a 4‑year apprentice.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and track calibration of lab instruments (oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, generators, analyzers, etc.).
• Maintain the instrument database with status, location, calibration dates and certificates.
• Perform post‑calibration checks, keep the lab organized, labelled and compliant with safety rules.
• Ensure calibration activities meet automotive quality requirements (traceability, documentation, periodic verification, change control).
• Contribute to continuous improvement of lab processes for customer and audit expectations.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts/applications to control lab instruments and STM32 boards.
• Set up automated measurement benches and data‑logging flows for STM32 characterization.
• Document tools, scripts and procedures with the detail required for automotive projects and audits.
• Propose enhancements to improve efficiency, traceability and compliance.

Required profile

• License degree in Electronics completed (or equivalent).
• Basic knowledge of embedded C and STM32 MCUs or other microcontrollers.
• Understanding of electronic measurements and lab instruments.
• Programming skills in at least one language (Python preferred).
• Interest in automation, scripting and test environments, ideally in a high‑quality/automotive context.
• Methodical, organized and attentive to detail.
