Senior Backend Engineer, Node.js + AWS

About the role

Deel is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale its global payroll and HR platform. You will work on high‑impact services that support millions of workers across more than 150 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, designers, and QA to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Participate in product planning from discovery through deployment, influencing the software development lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs and backend features using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs quickly, maintaining Deel’s high‑velocity release cadence.
• Ensure code quality, performance, and security to provide a customer‑centric product.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in backend development with Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript best practices.
• Experience with at least one additional server‑side language.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑moving, cross‑functional SaaS environment.
