Migration Health Nurse

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Migration Health Nurse to join its Sfax sub‑office. The role supports the health assistance programme for migrants, ensuring safe and humane migration through direct nursing care and health education.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily nursing activities, including health assessments, treatments, and referrals for migrants.
• Provide clear information to migrants about IOM health assistance, migration health assessments, and available treatments.
• Accompany vulnerable migrants to hospitals and ensure proper follow‑up.
• Maintain a register of beneficiaries and record all health assistance in the IOM Migrant Management & Operational System (MiMosa).
• Collect and submit health data for reporting and prepare administrative health trend reports.
• Assist with pre‑departure documentation, briefings, and preparations.
• Coordinate with internal IOM departments, health providers, panel physicians, NGOs, and other partners.

Required profile

• Qualified nursing background with experience in public or migration health.
• Ability to work with vulnerable populations and provide compassionate care.
• Strong communication skills for explaining health procedures to migrants.
• Organizational skills to maintain accurate records and reports.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the IOM Migrant Management & Operational System (MiMosa) or similar health information systems.
