Migration Health Nurse

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Migration Health Nurse to join its Sub‑office in Sfax, Tunisia. Working under the Chief of Mission, the Head of Sub‑office and the Migration and Health Physician, you will provide direct health assistance to migrants and support the organization’s migration‑health programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily nursing activities, including health assessments, treatment, referrals and accompaniment of vulnerable migrants to hospitals.
• Provide clear information to migrants about IOM health assistance, migration health assessments and available treatments.
• Take comprehensive medical histories, maintain registers of beneficiaries and ensure proper follow‑up.
• Raise awareness among health service providers about migrants’ right to health.
• Contribute to health education and counselling for migrants on prevention and disease management.
• Maintain and update IOM’s migration‑health database, recording all assistance in the MiMosa system.
• Prepare administrative reports on health trends and supply timely data for reporting.
• Assist with pre‑departure documentation, briefings and preparations as needed.

Required profile

• Registered nurse or equivalent qualification.
• Experience providing health assistance to migrants or vulnerable populations.
• Ability to work under supervision of senior IOM staff and collaborate with health service providers.
• Strong communication skills for explaining health processes to migrants.

Required skills

• MiMosa (Migrant Management & Operational System) – data entry and reporting.
• Database management for tracking health assistance.
