Junior Embedded Software Engineer – Fresh Graduate

About the role

As a Junior Embedded Software Engineer you will join SBEC Partners' near‑shore engineering team in Sfax, working on real customer projects for safety‑critical systems. You will develop embedded software alongside experienced engineers in Tunisia and Germany, gradually taking ownership of tasks across the full development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software in C or C++ for microcontroller‑based systems.
• Translate system and software requirements into structured designs and reliable source code.
• Support the creation of low‑level drivers, hardware abstraction layers, communication interfaces, and application software.
• Debug embedded software and assist its integration with target hardware.
• Develop and execute unit tests, including test cases, mocks, and code‑coverage analysis.
• Support the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, static analysis, and code‑quality checks.
• Follow established software development processes and quality standards.

Required profile

• Recently completed engineering degree in embedded systems, computer science, electrical/electronic engineering, or a comparable field.
• Basic programming knowledge in C or C++.
• Understanding of fundamental C concepts such as pointers, memory management, and data types.
• Basic knowledge of microcontrollers, interrupts, timers, peripherals, and communication interfaces.
• Structured and analytical approach to solving technical problems.
• Motivation to learn and develop within a professional engineering environment.
• Ability to work effectively in an international team.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Relevant experience from university projects, internships, final‑year projects, or personal embedded projects.
