Lead Software Engineer

About the role

Digital Innovation Partner, a Swiss‑based IT company, is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join its Tunisian office. You will guide an AI‑driven product development team, design production‑grade solutions and collaborate closely with colleagues in Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the design, architecture and implementation of scalable software systems.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers, ensuring high standards of code quality.
• Champion best practices such as clean code, comprehensive testing, CI/CD, documentation and operational readiness.
• Assess trade‑offs related to scalability, reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product owners, subject‑matter experts and domain specialists in an Agile environment.
• Translate functional and non‑functional requirements into actionable technical solutions.
• Participate in planning, estimation, risk identification and delivery tracking.
• Ensure solutions are robust, observable, secure and production‑ready.
• Partner with MLOps and data‑science teams to integrate machine‑learning models into production.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and building production‑grade software systems.
• Strong background in system design, architecture and engineering trade‑offs.
• Experience working in Agile teams and leading technical initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI/ML or MLOps concepts is highly desirable.

Required skills

• APIs, backend services, integration patterns, distributed systems.
• Automated testing, code reviews, maintainability, technical debt management.
• Relational databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle; data modeling, query optimization, indexing.
• Frameworks: FastAPI, Spring Boot, Node.js.
• Clean‑code principles, modular design, CI/CD pipelines.
• MLOps and production ML system knowledge (desired).
