CNC Machinist - Level I

About the role

Pursuit Aerospace, a global manufacturer of complex aircraft engine components, is hiring a CNC Machinist (Level I) in Megrine, Ben Arous. The machinist sets up and runs CNC machines and related equipment, producing parts to work order, blueprint and sketch specifications in a cellular environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform set-ups and operate CNC machines and related equipment where programs, fixtures and methods have been developed.
• Edit and adjust machines to produce parts to work order, blueprint and sketch specifications.
• Operate more than one machine in a cellular environment.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of feeds and speeds and of cutting tools and their application.
• Inspect work for all dimensional features and produce quality and quantity in line with company requirements.
• Complete paperwork on counts, scrap and time accurately, and maintain a neat, orderly work area and tooling, including operator maintenance sheets and coolant tanks.
• Assist new and less experienced operators as requested, and follow company policies on good housekeeping, safety and security.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of CNC machinist experience.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches; basic mechanical ability.
• Able to sit at a desk and use a computer for long periods, and to sit, stand and walk frequently; able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
• Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and safety shoes is required on the shop floor.
• Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with CNC machines and controls.
• Experience operating in a cellular manufacturing environment.
• Prior use of precision measuring instruments.
• Exposure to aerospace or tight-tolerance manufacturing environments.
