Senior Electrical Engineer II - Automotive Systems

About the role

Visteon's Electrical Department is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, develop and validate advanced electrical systems and components for the automotive industry. The role calls for strong technical leadership, mentoring of junior engineers and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex automotive electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, power distribution and control modules.
• Develop test plans and validation protocols ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards and regulations.
• Work with mechanical, software and systems engineering teams to integrate electrical components into vehicle platforms.
• Analyze and troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools and simulation software.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster adherence to best engineering practices.
• Manage project timelines, resources and deliverables to meet program milestones and quality goals.
• Implement continuous improvement processes and keep accurate records of design changes, test results and compliance certifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in automotive electrical system design and development, preferably at a Tier 1 supplier or OEM.
• Proven expertise in automotive electrical standards such as ISO 26262.
• Demonstrated leadership, project management and mentoring experience.

Required skills

• Automotive electrical system design, wiring harness development and power distribution architecture.
• Validation and testing, diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques.
• Vehicle network protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay).
• Simulation software (MATLAB/Simulink, CANoe).
• FMEA and root cause analysis.
