Migration Health Nurse Consultant (Type B)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Migration Health Nurse (Type B) to support its public‑health programme in Zarzis, Tunisia. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Sub‑office Head and the migration health physician to deliver medical services to migrant beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct medical assistance to migrants accessing IOM health services.
• Assist physicians as needed and create or update medical records for new and follow‑up cases.
• Coordinate referrals with hospitals and medical centres, monitoring treatment progress.
• Support migrant health services in governmental facilities when requested.
• Identify special health needs of vulnerable groups (children, pregnant or lactating women, persons with disabilities, elderly) and liaise with partners to facilitate care.
• Contribute to mechanisms that ensure quality health services and monitor potential protection concerns.
• Conduct health‑needs assessments of the migrant population, focusing on health determinants.

Required profile

• Experience providing medical assistance to migrant populations.
• Ability to work under supervision of health professionals and coordinate with external health actors.
• Familiarity with record‑keeping and referral processes in a humanitarian context.
