Migration Health Nurse Consultant (Type B)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Migration Health Nurse (Consultant Type B) to support its public‑health programme in Zarzis, Tunisia. Working under the supervision of the Head of Sub‑office (Zarzis) and the migration health physician, the consultant will provide direct medical assistance to migrant beneficiaries and help strengthen the health response to migration‑related challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical assistance to migrants accessing IOM health services and support physicians as needed.
• Create and maintain accurate medical records for new and follow‑up cases, ensuring proper archiving.
• Coordinate referrals with hospitals and medical centres, monitoring treatment progress and patient conditions.
• Support migrant health services in governmental facilities when requested.
• Identify special health needs of individuals or groups and liaise with partners to facilitate service provision.
• Contribute to quality‑assurance mechanisms and monitor protection concerns for vulnerable categories (children, pregnant and lactating women, persons with disabilities, elderly).
• Conduct health‑needs assessments of the migrant population, maintain a monitoring system, and ensure emergency response readiness.
• Highlight psychosocial and protection issues for caseworkers in line with SOPs.
