Indirect Buyer – Industrial Procurement (France Plant Support)

About the role

Akwel is seeking an Indirect Buyer to support its French manufacturing sites. Reporting to a Senior Buyer, you will manage the sourcing process for industrial commodities, ensuring cost‑effective and high‑quality supply for maintenance and production needs.

Key responsibilities

• Launch Request for Quotations (RFQs) using preferred supplier lists defined by the Commodity Lead Buyer and local suppliers.
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD) performance.
• Monitor QCD results through regular buyer reports.
• Track order progress with both French and international suppliers.
• Handle supplier escalations and manage litigation issues raised by internal customers.
• Coordinate supplier evaluations for assigned business units.
• Support internal customers, especially for maintenance contracts and spare‑part procurement.

Required profile

• Higher education degree in purchasing or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience purchasing industrial commodities.
• Strong interest in technical purchasing and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent communication in English and French.
• Proven analytical and coordination skills with a focus on rigor and ethics.
