Head of Credit

About the role

The Bank ABC Tunisian branch is seeking a seasoned Head of Credit to lead its Credit Department. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will oversee credit risk management, ensure compliance with internal policies and Central Bank regulations, and drive the continuous improvement of credit procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve credit proposals in line with the bank’s policies, standards and procedures.
• Monitor the credit portfolio, escalating issues to the CEO and relevant credit committees.
• Ensure facility utilization aligns with obligor expectations.
• Maintain and enhance PSP documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
• Promote a strong risk culture across the organization and uphold professional and ethical standards.

Required profile

• University degree in Banking, Finance, Economics or equivalent; master’s or professional certification in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial analysis and credit assessment within banking or rating agencies, including at least 7 years in credit assessment and post‑approval processes.
• Fluency in French, English and Arabic with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and strategic thinking abilities.
• Attention to detail, client‑centric mindset and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
