Tooling Engineer – Mechanical Design & Tooling Development

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Tooling Engineer to join our mechanical engineering team. In this role you will support the development, optimisation and replacement of tooling used in plastic part production, ensuring technical feasibility and cost‑effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Handle replacement tools processes and manage all mechanical engineering changes.
• Prepare preliminary cost estimates and feasibility studies for plastic parts from a tooling perspective.
• Develop and validate manufacturing and tooling concepts, providing mechanical development consulting.
• Verify tool design accuracy, produce tooling drawings, and supply them to tooling vendors.
• Monitor detailed schedules for tooling manufacturing, optimisation and sample specifications.
• Define, communicate, and track tooling changes and improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in tool design and development.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving abilities and effective communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and other engineering design tools.
• Experience with tooling for injection molding processes.
• Knowledge of tool design, cost estimation and feasibility analysis.
