Senior Human Rights, Gender Equality & Civil Society Expert

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Non‑Key Expert to provide high‑quality technical assistance on human rights, gender equality, social inclusion and civil‑society development within the EU‑funded “Egypt Downtown Facility” project. The role supports participatory policy dialogue and the implementation of rights‑based approaches in cooperation with Egyptian partner entities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct policy and institutional assessments, stakeholder consultations and analytical studies related to human rights and gender equality.
• Support civil‑society organisations and public institutions in designing and implementing participatory policy dialogue.
• Provide expertise on gender mainstreaming and rights‑based approaches in international cooperation.
• Contribute to the visibility and coherence of the EU‑Egypt Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in human rights, law, political science, gender studies, development studies, social sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in human rights, gender equality, social inclusion or civil‑society development.
• Proven experience conducting assessments, consultations and analytical studies.
• Fluent in English (C1) and Arabic (C1); French is an asset.
• Experience in Egypt or the MENA region is highly desirable.
