SAP BTP CAP Developer

About the role

We are looking for a SAP BTP CAP Developer to design and implement backend solutions on SAP Business Technology Platform. You will translate business problems into high‑performance services, collaborate with front‑end and reporting teams, and keep our applications up‑to‑date with the latest SAP technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using the SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) Model with Node.js and SAP HANA Cloud.
• Design data models and services on SAP HANA or PostgreSQL and build Multi‑Target Applications (MTA) for Cloud Foundry.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and security within SAP BTP.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance business applications and integrate third‑party systems.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise CAP‑based applications; perform unit testing and API testing with Postman.
• Work with source control (GitHub) and support CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Stay current with SAP UI5, Fiori, React, and AWS services where applicable.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience building custom CAP applications from scratch.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript and the Express framework.
• Experience with SAP UI5 freestyle development and SAP HANA artefacts (calculation views, HDB views) or solid RDBMS/SQL knowledge.
• Familiarity with Multi‑Target Applications, Cloud Foundry deployment and BTP services.
• Knowledge of web technologies (HTTP, REST, XML, SOAP) and test‑driven development.
• Experience with GitHub, Postman, and basic CI/CD concepts; exposure to Docker, Kubernetes is a plus.
• Agile (SCRUM) experience and good understanding of security aspects.
