Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting and operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while providing strategic insight to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Manage the external audit process and oversee tax and statutory filings.
• Oversee accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Streamline financial systems and lead process‑improvement projects, including ERP upgrades.
• Partner with business units, mentor finance team members, and foster a culture of accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• CPA, ACCA or relevant professional certification strongly preferred.
• 5+ years progressive finance/accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior controller role.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in high‑growth or start‑up environments, preferably technology or IP‑focused.

Required skills

• Proficiency with financial systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle.
• Deep knowledge of IFRS/GAAP reporting standards.
• Ability to develop and maintain robust internal controls.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
